"...There are other rods to be watching as well ... Great Bay Rod Company has landed in a niche of producing high-end-quality, made-in-America rods for just under $400. This is all good news for the fly guy. I see the market coming out of the doldrums. The innovation wheels are turning. And you and I will have many more options for saving money, and/or realizing some performance advantages in the near future. At least you'll have a better excuse to buy yourself a rod ... I'll keep you posted on what else I hear."

May 19, 2010 - Great Bay Rod Company announced today that it will not be participating in the 2010 International Fly Tackle Dealer (IFTD) show in Denver. In a notification to AFFTA, informing them of the decision, Great Bay Rod Company President David Gibson said "2010 is shaping up to be our strongest year yet, over the past few weeks we've reviewed strategic business-case from our previous high-tech careers, and have decided to reallocate the marketing expenditure to directly benefit our wholesale customers." Gibson also added "As you know, dealers can use all the help they can get, and we will launch three new innovative business programs in 2011."
The new business programs for 2011 will be announced later this year, these programs are consistent with Great Bay Rod Company's unique dealer-approach and will augment the company's innovative Dealer Protection Program. Stay tuned for future press releases and announcements for more details. |
