New for 2010 - Introducing the Evolution Force series! To create a supercharged rod line, we took the Evolution Force to some of the toughest fish in the world: Australia. Rod designs and prototypes were fished long and hard. A true labor of love, full of innovation and loaded with features that discerning anglers expect.

Each rod in this series is grain rated. Experiment with a variety of different fly line tapers and grain weights to accommodate your specific casting style and fishing conditions. The Force/MV1 is rated at 190-220 grains, the Force/MV2 rated at 260-300 grains and the Force/MV3 rated at 350-400 grains.

These new models incorporate several new-to-the-industry design concepts, including an angled-forward stripping guide and a super-aggressive rod taper. Fly fishers can rifle out casts to cruising fish. Once hooked, you’ll fight these large fast running fish with the power found deeper in the butt section of the rod. We over-tested these rods for performance and knowing they withstood the Australian fishing pressure, we’re confident they’ll be perfect stateside.

The Evolution Pro Team represents state-of-the-art in fly rod design. Cast to blitzing fish all day without fatigue or fight school tuna or GT’s to exhaustion with this extremely fast action rod. The best technology combined with the best components in the industry. The Evolution Pro Team features marine ceramic guides with titanium frames for corrosion free set-up, and frictionless line casting that enables longer casts.

All rods feature our proprietary tapers, and a lifetime registered original-owner warranty. Every rod ships with a Great Bay Rod Company branded aluminum rod tube and rod bag. Great Bay Rod Company carefully inspects each rod for fit and finish and performs quality assurance testing on 100% of the products that leave our facility; testing includes, static deflection testing to insure precise guide placement, hand casting of all fly rods, and actual line weight measurement verification.

Evolution Angler Reviews

The first thing noticed after opening the aluminum rod tube... is the look of quality we have come to expect from more expensive brands. The rod is described as a fast action, but it is not a broomstick that is tiring to use. If anything, just the opposite is true... the rod was found to be crisp and responsive, handling both short and long casts with ease. The rod allowed one cast presentations at distances of 60 to 80 feet, making it ideal for estuary or flats use. As for the power of this rod, there is more than enough to punch a fly into the wind as well as handle bulky flies like Dahlbergs. The Evolution Pro Team also has ample power in the butt section to apply plenty of pressure to lift a fish from under a boat or stop a fast running pelagic.

I don't usually recommend a rod as there is no doubt that we, as opinated fly fishers, could provide you with logical reseaons why the rod we use is best. That said... if you are in the market for a saltwater or estuary rod, give the ProTeam a try. I am sure you will be impressed.
